Camilo Vera becomes the first to compete new dismount, and the third Colombian gymnast to have an original parallel bars skill named.

Camilo Vera of Team Colombia has become the first gymnast to successfully perform a backward tucked double-double from a long hang off the end of the parallel bars. It has been given an F (0.6) difficulty rating. The skill was first competed at the 2026 Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro on June 18, 2026.

While most parallel bars dismounts are performed from the center of the bars, a trend has been developing among PAGU gymnasts, who are innovating with new dismounts from the end of the bars. Teammate Dilan Jiménez has performed a full-twisting version of this dismount, and Joaquín Álvarez of Team Chile developed his own eponymous skill in 2024, also from a long hang at the end of the bar.

The skill's official entry into the Code of Points was announced in the World Gymnastics Newsletter – N° 04 – July 2026. Following the announcement, Colombian National Team coach Jairo Ruiz Casas posted a video on social media. In the post, he said:

It's an honor for us, and we're very pleased that Camilo Vera has registered this element … because it's very important for Colombian men's artistic gymnastics to be recognized on the international stage.

Ruiz Casas also pointed out Colombia's long history of gymnastics innovators, mentioning Giovanni Quintero, who was the first to perform two different in-bar high bar skills in 2001, along with a highly difficult parallel bars flight element in 2003. While not mentioned in the video, Jorge Hugo Giraldo of Colombia also had his own parallel bars flight element named in 2016.

Ruiz Casas continued:

Our training system is unique in Latin America. I have as many as five or six coaches for the parallel bars and high bar.

He went on to explain that this effort is aimed at raising the competitive level of difficulty on these apparatus, which are a top priority for the national program.
